Hähnchengesundheits- und Geflügelmanagementkontakte nach Staat

Die meisten Hühnerhalter im Hinterhof greifen auf Selbsthilfe zurück, um verletzte, kranke und sterbende Hühner zu Hause zu versorgen, da sie keinen Zugang zu einem Geflügeltierarzt haben, aber es gibt staatliche und föderale Ressourcen, die der Geflügelgemeinschaft zur Verfügung stehen und eine Vielzahl von Dienstleistungen anbieten. Der Umgang mit Verletzungen, Krankheiten und Todesfällen in einer Herde kann stressfreier gestaltet werden, wenn Informationen und Vorräte leicht verfügbar sind. Sorgen Sie für einen gut sortierten Erste-Hilfe-Kasten und eine Krankenstation. Haben Sie einen Euthanasieplan; Die meisten Tierärzte werden ein krankes oder verletztes Huhn einschläfern, selbst wenn sie Hühner nicht routinemäßig behandeln.

Euthanasie durch zervikale Luxation
Meiner Erfahrung nach ist die schnellste, am wenigsten grausame und humanste Methode der Euthanasie die Genickbruch oder das „Brechen“ des Genicks des Huhns, was zu sofortiger Bewusstlosigkeit und Tod führt. Während Sie das Huhn wie einen Fußball unter dem nicht dominanten Arm halten, drücken Sie seinen Körper sehr fest gegen Ihre Seite. Legen Sie Ihre dominante Hand auf den Kopf des Vogels, mit dem Daumen an der Schädelbasis hinter dem Kopf und den Fingern unter der Kehle. Mit einem sehr festen Griff strecken und ziehen Sie den Kopf schnell und fest gerade nach vorne, vom Körper weg, während Sie den Hals nach hinten beugen, bis ein knallendes Geräusch zu hören ist, das die Trennung der Wirbel und den sofortigen Tod signalisiert. Halten Sie den Vogel weiterhin fest, bis die Nervenaktivität aufgehört hat.
